Shot in Northern Ireland, the film is set in occupied Czechoslovakia in 1943 and follows a Romani woman drawn into the resistance after a personal tragedy. Told through an intimate, character-driven lens. Rozkvet explores grief, moral choice, and hope in the face of injustice, while shining a light on the often-overlooked Romani experience during the Holocaust and their vital role in anti-fascist resistance.
As we put the final touches on picture and sound, we want to celebrate an absolutely outstanding cast and crew. Their talent, commitment, and care for the story were exceptional, and their professionalism never wavered — even under pressure. Just as importantly, they brought incredible energy, generosity, and genuinely great craic to set, creating a collaborative and joyful environment that made the work better every single day.
As Sam and Mattie perfectly put it: "We got to make a film, and we got to make friends." That spirit runs through every frame of Rozkvet.
We're incredibly proud of what’s been achieved and can’t wait to share the finished film with audiences very soon.
