About Lamb Films
Lamb Films is an Independent Film Company from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Larry Cowan set up Lamb Films in 2007 to provide a platform for local talent and to create a community of filmmakers.
After years of working in the Hospitality Industry pretending to be a manager, Larry left to pursue his film-making dreams by sweeping up rubbish on film sets. While gaining as much experience as he could in every department from Tim Robbins stand-in to location security, Larry was keen to put all these skills together and formed Lamb Films.
In the Last 16 years Lamb Films have produced all types of films for all types of audiences, this ranges from feature films and short films to cross-community media projects. These films have played at hundreds of film festivals worldwide, won awards, and some are available online.
Community Media projects are a big part of Lamb Films, they have produced and facilitated over 30 projects including The Belfast City Council Youth Form Award 2011-2018 Winning: Interface Diaries. Working with the Education Authority Lamb Films designed and filming the lockdown project "whishes".
In 2023 Lamb Films are in post-production on the cricket feature film The Trick Room (2024) . In the same year Lamb Film released the Documentary about Lough Neagh: Life in the Lough (2023). This documentary tells the story the internationally recognised lough and the people and wildlife that rely on it.
Feature Film development is an active part of Lamb Films with a current slate of films being taken to film markets and looking for Co-Production Partners. One for Sorrow (2024) is currently in Development with the Northern Ireland Screen, and Gerald Chamales (The Irishman) attached as an adviser.
Moving into 2024 Lamb Films will be developing a TV Series, a follow up documentary to Life on the Lough and taking our slate of films to various film markets.
